Jane van Marken is an engaging 30-something Londoner who wants to share her love and knowledge of the great city of London.

Jane can show you London’s most delightful hidden gems or arrange an unforgettable experience that gets to the heart of London as Londoners know it. Jane is ready to take you by the hand and share her secrets…where to find the perfect coffee, vintage scarf or cosy bistro; be it in St James’s, Marylebone, Primrose Hill or Hampstead.

Jane’s love of London matches her love of travel and whilst in these far-flung places, she often thought how fantastic it would be to have a local friend at her side to be her guide and companion, to help her cut to the chase and get to the heart of where she really wanted to be.

This is where the idea for While He Works was born. Always attuned to your particular needs, Jane will ensure you have a memorable day.

Jo

Jo Charlton, from England, came to Paris five years ago with her family, assuming they would be here for no longer than her husband’s three year secondment, enjoy it and then go back to London. But quickly falling in love with Paris and the Parisian way of life. Paris has long since become home.

Jo has been acting as guide to dozens of visitors over the years and has thoroughly enjoyed sharing her favourite parts of this beautiful and evolving city. There’s always a new boutique to discover and swoon over and has yet to become blasé about the beauty of the city.

So to combine her passion of shopping with her love of the city she has developed this business idea together with Jane, in London, and has devised an exciting way to help visitors as well as friends.

Jo is also a keen artist, so what better city for inspiration?
